Szövegdoboz:         DUNA Fejlesztési Kft was set up by its shareholders, the	Regional Development Holding operating under the direction of Hungarian Development Bank, the 	Hungarian Investment and Trade Development Agency owned by the Ministry of Economy and Transport and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Republic of Hungary and Austria Wirtschaftsgesellschaftsservice G.m.b.H. (AWSG) operating under the directive of Austrian Financial Ministry) in 1998 as an independent company.

The origin idea was supporting the Hungarian Government on the area of project developments before entering European Union with special consideration of Hungarian local governments executing energy efficiency and other environmental projects in connection with their operation. In the following period Duna Development Ltd. was asked by local governments for the management of numerous projects relating energy rationalization and modernization of the energetic systems. As a result of that the development of energetic projects is the major activity of the company.

Duna Development Ltd. made significant advisory activity for the Hungarian Government and a few local governments e.g. regarding the Law of Power Energy or the Hungarian Strategy of Renewable Energy, and also took part of development of the domestic tender culture.

Following the admission of Hungary to the European Union in 2005 the Austrian Government considering that the original goal in connection with Duna Development Ltd. is accomplished, sold its share to a Swiss investor. In the same year the Hungarian Government assigned the main task of Duna Development Ltd. to find possibility of realization of domestic bio-ethanol, biodiesel and biogas projects.

Due to the fast developing of the Duna Development Ltd. the operation of the company demanded more possibilities than it was granted within a state-owned enterprise, so the Regional Development Holding Rt. as the main Hungarian state-shareholder sold its share in 2008, but made an agreement about strategy partnership
